Ulysses

Ulysses
=======
When the winds are strong
He sails
When the winds are weak
He deciphers the euphemisms
Written on the crypts of the ancients.
Emancipation has its delights and sorrows
The agony of explaining the wonders
Of the beach, straits and islands
At every port he loves or not
But the quest goes on.
Untamed by the songs of the sirens
Unfazed by the mighty charybdis
Unlured by Circe's island of love
Without the illusions of a long lost Ithaca
Unphantomed,
The sailor sails.

Prabhakar Sarma Neog.
